Forklift Driver UBER in Hughson, California at Grower Direct Nut Company, Inc.

We are seeking an experienced and safety-driven Forklift Operator to support our walnut processing and storage operations. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of bulk walnut product, bins, and packaged goods throughout the facility while maintaining strict quality and food safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Operate forklifts (sit-down, clamp, and/or bin handlers) to move walnut bins, pallets, and finished goods

· Load and unload incoming raw walnut deliveries and outbound shipments

· Transport product between receiving, processing, cold storage, and shipping areas

· Stack, store, and rotate product to maintain quality and prevent damage

· Inspect loads for accuracy and report any discrepancies or product issues

· Perform daily forklift inspections and basic maintenance checks

· Perform regular cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels and report discrepancies

· Maintain warehouse cleanliness in compliance with food safety and GMP standards

· Organize storage areas, including proper bin and pallet placement for efficiency and accessibility

· Assist in maintaining accurate inventory through proper labeling, rotation, and tracking of walnut products

· Follow all food safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and OSHA safety guidelines

· Assist with seasonal harvest operations and increased production demands

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities are not limited to the above mentioned and may include assisting other departments within reasonable and related tasks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Ability to sit, stand, and operate a forklift for extended periods of time

· Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 lbs

· Repetitive movements including reaching, bending, twisting, and climbing in and out of equipment

· Ability to safely operate equipment in tight spaces and around moving machinery

· Tolerance for working in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures (including heat and cold storage)

· Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception for safe equipment operation

· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection

Work environment

· Warehouse and processing facility with exposure to dust, noise, and moving equipment

· Indoor and outdoor work depending on operational needs

· Seasonal high-volume periods during walnut harvest

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred

2. Valid forklift certification required

3. Minimum 2+ years of forklift experience, preferably in agriculture or food processing

4. Experience handling bulk bins or agricultural commodities preferred

5. Understanding of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP is a plus)

6. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures, including cold storage

7. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
