Job Description
Walsh Door & Security is seeking a Quality Engineer to be a part of the team at our Des Moines location. The Quality Engineer is responsible for establishing quality assurance processes that protect the customer and ensure operational accuracy. This role coordinates with all manufacturing and logistics departments and associated resources to ensure that we meet or exceed customer quality expectations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Quality Department to support overall business growth and operational excellence.
- Establish and maintain a strong quality culture focused on prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance goals.
- Implement and maintain inspection strategies, control plans, and risk-based quality control for a variety of products and processes.
- Act as the organization’s primary authority for quality related decisions impacting product, process, and customer commitments.
- Provide leadership in resolving complex or high-impact challenges, such as escalated customer issues or supplier issues. (Participate in implementing solutions… not just identifying problems.)
- Collaborate with Distribution, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure quality strategies are aligned with company objectives for manufacturing, supplied products, and customer expectations.
- Lead staffing efforts for the quality team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management, to develop and sustain a strong, high-performing team.
- Provide recommendations for facilities improvements or expansions related to quality, focusing on safety, efficiency, and compliance.
