This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr SampleManager Implementation Engineer based in Canada.
This is a senior technical role focused on implementing, configuring, integrating, and deploying SampleManager LIMS solutions across diverse laboratory environments. You will translate functional requirements and solution designs into scalable, maintainable technical implementations. The role spans new implementations, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, testing, data migration, and deployment. You will work closely with architects, analysts, project managers, QA specialists, and customers to deliver complete solutions. Your expertise will also help resolve complex technical issues and strengthen implementation standards and reusable practices. - Configure, customize, implement, and deploy SampleManager LIMS solutions across a range of laboratory environments.
- Serve as a senior technical implementation expert, applying deep product knowledge and implementation best practices to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Translate functional requirements and technical designs into effective SampleManager configurations and working solutions.
- Design and implement laboratory workflows, master data, business rules, screens, reports, and other LIMS functionality.
- Configure and support integrations between SampleManager, laboratory instruments, enterprise applications, and other systems, including SampleManager Integration Manager.
- Perform technical analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex configuration, integration, and application issues.
- Support data mapping, migration, validation, and related activities for LIMS implementations and upgrades.
- Develop and execute unit and system testing while supporting broader validation, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
- Prepare clear technical documentation, including configuration specifications, design documents, implementation records, and other project deliverables.
- Support upgrades, enhancements, and change requests across existing customer environments.
- Estimate technical implementation activities and proactively identify dependencies, risks, and potential delivery issues.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, technical leads, QA/validation teams, and other engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and implementation support to project teams and customers.
- Contribute to reusable configurations, implementation standards, technical best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience implementing, configuring, or supporting LIMS/informatics solutions, including substantial hands-on implementation experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise with SampleManager LIMS configuration and implementation is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience designing laboratory workflows and implementing customer-specific LIMS functionality.
- Experience with SampleManager Integration Manager, system integrations, and laboratory instrument integrations is highly desirable.
- Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Programming or software development experience, particularly with C#/.NET, is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex configuration, integration, and application issues.
- Experience with LIMS upgrades, testing, deployment, data migration, and system validation.
- Understanding of SDLC, Quality Management Systems, and regulated or validated laboratory environments such as GMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and ISO is desirable.
- Ability to interpret functional requirements and technical specifications and translate them into reliable working solutions.
- Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and functional specification development is beneficial.
- Strong technical documentation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to learn new technologies and deepen expertise in LIMS solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when working in regulated environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required.
- Full-time, fully remote position based in Canada.
