Retail Sales and Customer Service Associate in Warwick, Rhode Island at Builders Surplus Inc

Summary: Provides every customer with courteous, friendly and efficient service. Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products. Resolves customer issues or brings issues to the attention of a manager if necessary. Maintains work area in a safe, clean and orderly manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Point-of-Sale System experience
- Customer Service experience, specifically in a building material environment
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word & Excel
- Some data entry and typing skills
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as personal computer, printer, fax, copier and scanner
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Ability to work Saturdays

Physical Qualifications:
- Must be able to stand for extend periods of time
- Must be able to reach and crouch if necessary

Job Specific Accountabilities
- Greet customers in professional and courteous manner
- Answer incoming calls from customers
- Cashing out customers through the Point-of-Sale System
- Providing customers with accurate knowledge of the products displayed
- Contacting customers when their orders have arrived
- Maintain a rapport with customers throughout the transaction and beyond
- Receive deliveries, check contents and store in appropriate areas
- Maintain office and parts equipment/fixtures in clean and good working condition, and report damage and malfunctions to store manager
- Resolve customer complaints or concerns and report to store manager
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and functional work rea at all times
