Job Description

Registered Nurse-speciality-clinic

JOB DUTIES:

  1. Assist providers with patient office visits, including putting patients in rooms, interviewing patients, recording vital signs including pulse rate, blood pressure, height, and weight, and enters information in patient’s electronic medical record.
  2. Performs select clinical tests as ordered by provider.
  3. Manages, monitors, and operates equipment safely and correctly.
  4. Administers and documents medication under provider’s order and follows the medication rights and reduces the potential for medical error all within the scope of the nurse’s license.
  5. Assist providers with office-based procedures.
  6. Organizes exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and re-stocking of supplies.
  7. Completes medication prior authorizations.
  8. Monitors ARPMP per protocol.
  9. Assists in Quality Measures by collecting, screening, and monitoring workflow under direction of provider.
  10. Supervises LPN and assists in clinical task/management as needed.
  11. Demonstrated initiative and makes good decisions in situations not covered by policies
  12. Accepts and delivers constructive criticism in a positive manner
  13. Prioritizes and completes tasks in a timely manner.
  14. Other duties as assigned by Director associated with clinic specialty.
    1. Performs a structured risk assessment for each patient based on patient history and other information gathered during the patient interview.
    2. Understands and follows regulatory guidelines for patients receiving long term opiate therapy including random and periodic pill counts and urine drug testing.
    3. Assesses the patient, including non-verbal cues, in order to determine the cause and severity of their pain.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Current unrestricted Arkansas RN licensed required.
  2. Training and Experience: CPR/BLS current and other certifications as assigned.
  3. Job Knowledge: Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs. Must demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk. Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals. Familiarity with EMR systems a plus
