SUMMARY
Effectively assists customers with rentals directly from the dealership and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction for the business transaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Greets customers at the counter in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Verifies insurance coverage for all customers
  • Addresses customer inquiries about the availability and cost of vehicles
  • Makes reservations and explains the terms of the rental agreement
  • Completes paperwork with the customer and collects payment
  • Computes customer bills.
  • Makes changes and issues receipts to customers.
  • Reconciles cash drawer daily.
  • Show customers their vehicle and point out any damages, scrapes, or special features
  • Check mileage and inspect for damage when vehicles are returned
  • Works with department managers to keep abreast of new products, their features, and any changes in price.
  • Answers customer questions about vehicles, or refers them to someone who can.
  • Handles customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution.
  • Follows up with different Accounts Receivable items for payment
  • Reconciles the fleet daily
  • Very dependable and punctual
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • QUALIFICATIONS
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job attendance is a key duty in performing the other duties.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    •High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


  • REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.



  • COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Basic computer literacy skills, ability to learn/understand dealership management software
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills, ability to learn/understand dealership management software
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse
  • Ability to look at various computer screens for 50% or more of day



  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    Standing, Sitting, walking, lifting up to 50lbs. Often requires working beyond a set schedule. Weekends and some Sundays will be required.
