Children's Respite Care Giver Wanted

Children's Respite Caregivers wanted who are looking for a close one on one connection with a child in their care. This position offers you the opportunity to make a difference in a Childs life. Children in the respite program have varying degrees of need in the following areas, Autism Spectrum, Down Syndrome, etc. Caregivers are matched with children based on care experience and work schedule availability. Many respite caregivers take this job to make income, yet they also find that Respite caregiving is also emotionally rewarding because of how much the child and their family truly appreciate the service and the relationship that develops. You must be highly dependable and have reliable transportation. The child and family will be eagerly awaiting your arrival each time. The child enjoys your companionship and the parents, finally get a much needed break.

This position does not qualify for relocation.

A Respite Care Giver Responsibilities

Relates to Exceptional Family Members (EFMs) and communicate professionally with the Family and the individuals receiving care

Manages and controls disruptive, tantrums, or non-compliance behavior (training included)

Assists Exceptional Family Members (EFMs) with daily living skills such as bathing, feeding, toileting, lifting/positioning, and dressing

Gives assistance to clients who have conditions such as asthma, seizures, diabetes and those who need special assistance with food intake

Provides supervision to ensure the safety of the EFM

Interacts positively and communicate effectively with the EFM, family members, and with other support staff

Respite Care Giver Qualifications

A passion for serving Seniors, Adults OR Children with Disabilities

Purposeful in service to others

Professional communication skills

Reliable transportation to shifts within your preferred service area

Smart Phone for using scheduling and timesheet app

Ability to pass random drug screening

Ability to pass background checks

Two work and/or education references

Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
