Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Encourage children's spiritual growth, emphasizing Christian values like love, kindness, and respect.
- Teach Bible stories, songs, and prayer to young children.
- Prepare materials and resources needed for lessons, crafts, and activities.
- Maintain a positive, welcoming classroom environment that reflects Christian principles.
- Assist children at lunchtime and serve afternoon snacks.
- Supervise and engage with children during playtime, snack time and other activities.
- Communicate with parents about their children's lessons, activities, and behavior.
- Work closely with other MDO teacher, assistant, and MDO staff to ensure a consistent and supportive environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 year experience in a teaching capacity.
Skills/Abilities
- Capacity to adapt lesson plans and activities based on the individual needs and interests of the children and any unexpected changes or challenges that may arise.
- Strong organizational skills to plan and manage classroom routines, materials, and resources effectively.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and understanding, especially in challenging situations, and to empathize with children's feeling and perspectives.
