This is a high-impact engineering role where your work directly influences platform security, developer experience, and system reliability. You will also play a key role in guiding technical direction, mentoring engineers, and improving system design practices across teams.
- Design, build, and evolve large-scale identity and authentication infrastructure supporting high-throughput distributed systems.
- Collaborate with product and platform engineering teams to deliver scalable identity solutions that meet diverse internal use cases.
- Lead architectural improvements including API design, system reliability, phased migrations, and persistent storage strategies.
- Ensure operational excellence through monitoring, incident response readiness, and participation in on-call rotations when applicable.
- Mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical decision-making, and support a strong engineering culture focused on collaboration and inclusion.
- Drive alignment between technical implementation, platform strategy, and long-term business objectives.
- 8+ years of software engineering or related industry experience in large-scale systems environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience in engineering disciplines).
- Proven experience working on high-QPS production systems and distributed platform services.
- Strong background in designing and delivering system-level roadmaps for large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience with identity and authentication standards such as OAuth, SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA, and RBAC is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in backend development, with exposure to languages such as Python and Go considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams effectively.
- Competitive compensation ranging from 190,400 to 257,600 CAD annually.
- Remote-friendly work model within Canada with flexibility depending on team structure.
- Opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical identity infrastructure.
- Collaborative and inclusive engineering culture with strong mentorship opportunities.
- Exposure to complex distributed systems and high-impact technical challenges.
- Participation in on-call rotations for operational ownership and system reliability experience.
