POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position title: Director of Community Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $104,733 – $186,585
The City of Summit is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as Director of Community Services. This executive-level position manages municipal operations related to public works, engineering, code administration, infrastructure, and land use under the direction of the City Administrator. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, oversee departmental operations and capital projects, manage budgets and personnel, and collaborate with City officials, boards, contractors, and the community to deliver high-quality municipal services.Qualified candidates must possess an advanced degree in public administration, engineering, or a related field, along with at least five years of progressively responsible municipal management experience, including major infrastructure development and maintenance projects. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and public relations skills are essential. A valid New Jersey driver's license is required.
