General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Health Information Management Supervisor, the Health Information Specialist I provides essential support to both the Health Information Management and Clinical teams. This role is responsible for processing specialty referrals, managing medical records, and assisting with electronic health record (EHR) documentation. The Specialist I assures all activities are performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and MFHC standards, contributing to accurate, timely, and secure health information practices.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical templates preferred.
- Understanding of basic medical transcription guidelines and practices preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar, punction, and professional style.
This is an in-person position in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Salary: $20 - $22 per hour, DOQ
