Job Description
Job Summary
The Houseperson is responsible for supporting the housekeeping department by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas, assisting room attendants, delivering supplies, and ensuring guest requests are handled promptly and professionally. This position plays a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping Support
Assist room attendants with cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.
Deliver clean linens, towels, and guest supplies to housekeeping carts and storage areas.
Remove soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors and service areas.
Restock housekeeping closets and storage rooms throughout the property.
Public Area Maintenance
Clean and maintain hotel lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, meeting rooms, and other common areas.
Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and polish assigned areas according to hotel standards.
Monitor public spaces and address cleanliness issues promptly.
Guest Services
Respond to guest requests for additional towels, linens, toiletries, cribs, rollaway beds, and other amenities.
Deliver requested items in a courteous and timely manner.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with guests.
Equipment and Safety
Operate housekeeping equipment safely and efficiently.
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and damaged equipment to management.
Follow all hotel safety procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and security policies.
Ensure work areas remain organized and free of hazards.
Team Support
Assist with room inspections and special cleaning projects as assigned.
Help prepare meeting spaces and event areas when needed.
Support housekeeping staff during high occupancy periods.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping, janitorial, hotel, or custodial experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Ability to follow instructions and hotel standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to frequently bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to move housekeeping carts, linen carts, and equipment throughout the property.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required.
Work Schedule
Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings as business demands require.
Overtime may be required during peak occupancy periods.

Maintain hotel cleanliness standards.
Respond promptly to guest and housekeeping requests.
Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and professionalism.
Follow all safety and operational procedures.
