- Position Title: Accounting Technician
- Job Type: Contractor
- Duration 3 Months (Renewal weekly basis as needed)
- Hours per week 37.5 hours (Monday to Friday)
- Location Onsite- Westwind (No Hybrid option)
- Hourly Rate $30
As part of the finance and administration team performs reconciliations, reporting, and complex Journal Entries, and assists Sr. Controller with Cash Management, the individual in this role is responsible for helping with the overall operations of the organization’s financial processes
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
General Accounting Responsibilities
- Post and track deposits in accounting system, and resolve issues
- Bank Reconciliations if requested
- Vendor and Credit Card Reconciliations if requested
- Tracking donations, issuing donation receipts
- Responsible for some payment runs related duties
- Responsible for mailing out cheques or emailing EFT remittances to vendors.
- Support Finance team when there are absences
- Maintain an effective filling system including funder/program files and general files
- General administrative duties for Finance

Requirements / Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in accounting field.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in accounting.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, including Excel; familiarity with Accounting Standards for Non‑Profit and Private Enterprises is a must
- Detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical, problem‑solving, time management, and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team‑focused approach
- Self‑motivated individual who demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and accuracy in delivering high‑quality work
- Upholds strong work ethics, accountability, confidentiality, and safety standards
- Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, accept feedback, and perform effectively under pressure in a team‑based environment
