Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Community Pathologist to join our clinical practice at UTMB Health. The primary base of operations will be our League City location, with the expectation of providing cross-coverage and maintaining privileges across all affiliated sites of the UTMB health system. The candidate will be expected to cover Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology services, including frozen sections, cytology and clinical lab call. Additionally, the candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, PA's and PA students as well as attend and participate in intra- and inter-departmental conferences and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The Community Pathologist must be Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology board certified or board eligible.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fellowship training or subspecialty experience in Surgical and Cytopathology is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background and interest in clinical pathology and experience as a laboratory medical director, with active College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation oversight.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
