The Senior Field Technician performs advanced fieldwork, testing, and documentation in support of building assessment and construction projects. This role is primarily responsible for executing field investigations, conducting standardized testing, and preparing detailed reports under the direction of Project Managers. While this position may provide guidance to junior staff and assist with coordinating field activities, the primary duty remains hands-on field execution and documentation rather than independent technical decision-making.
Your Impact
Perform on-site investigations, QA visits, and field reviews.
Conduct standardized testing (ASTM, AAMA, façade testing, flood testing, etc.) in accordance with established procedures.
Document field conditions, observations, and test results accurately.
Prepare detailed reports of findings for review by Project Managers.
Assist in identifying issues and compiling data for project evaluation.
Support feasibility assessments by gathering field data and documentation.
Attend OAC meetings and site visits as required.
Coordinate field activities with other technicians and project teams.
Assist in overseeing junior technicians during fieldwork execution.
Support project closeout documentation and deliverables.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
5+ years of building enclosure or related field experience.
Experience conducting field testing and documenting results.
Proven knowledge of building systems (roofing, waterproofing, façade, etc.).
IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or IIBEC Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO) certification, or active progress toward obtaining one of these certifications within 12 months.
Familiarity with applicable testing standards (ASTM, AAMA, etc.).
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
Proven track record of managing multiple active projects in a fast-paced environment.
