Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior People Operations Specialist in France.
This role sits within a fast-moving, remote-first environment where People Operations plays a critical role in enabling a globally distributed team to scale effectively. You will own end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle, acting as a hands-on generalist who thrives in ambiguity and builds structured solutions from first principles. The position has a strong focus on operational excellence, automation, and continuous improvement, particularly through AI-driven workflows. You will collaborate closely with managers, employees, Finance, and external providers across multiple jurisdictions. This is a highly impactful role where your work directly shapes the employee experience and operational scalability of a multi-country organization. You’ll be expected to think proactively, solve problems independently, and design systems that reduce manual effort while improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Own and manage core HR operations across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring smooth and compliant processes from onboarding to offboarding.
- Support managers and employees on performance management, employee relations, and day-to-day HR needs in a remote environment.
- Coordinate with EOR providers and contractors across multiple countries, navigating complex European employment structures.
- Partner with Finance to manage contractor payments, payroll-related workflows, and ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Design, document, and continuously improve scalable HR processes, replacing manual workflows with structured, automated solutions.
- Build and maintain People Operations tools and automations, including integrations with platforms such as HiBob, Notion, Slack, and internal systems.
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce friction.
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR, ideally within a tech-driven environment (SaaS, fintech, or similar).
- Proven experience in startup or scale-up settings, with a strong ability to build and improve processes rather than only execute them.
- Solid understanding of European employment frameworks, including multi-country workforce management, EOR models, and contractor administration.
- Experience working in fully remote, async-first environments with distributed teams.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and structured thinking.
- High ownership mindset: ability to identify issues, solve them independently, and document solutions clearly.
- Comfortable and proactive in using AI tools for drafting, research, and process optimization.
- Experience in larger organizations (~1,000+ employees) is a plus.
- Exposure to payroll processes or payroll provider coordination is an advantage.
- 30 days of annual paid time off (PTO).
- Flexible remote work and adaptable working hours.
- Equity participation from day one.
- Company-provided work equipment (choice of device).
- Annual €1,000 personal development budget (available after 6 months, prorated during the first year).
- One-time €1,000 remote work budget for coworking spaces or home office setup.
- Participation in annual global company offsites (past destinations include Thailand, Vietnam, Morocco, and Greece).
- Additional benefits apply for independent contractors (limited to core perks listed above).
