About Foxleigh Mine:

Foxleigh Mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 12km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine was established in 1999 as an open cut operation producing benchmark quality, LV PCI coal for the export market.


About the Role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Coordinator – Coal Haulage, Support Equipment & Tyres is responsible for leading maintenance execution activities across Foxleigh Mine's coal haulage fleet, support equipment and tyre management functions.

This is a key leadership position responsible for driving safe and efficient maintenance outcomes, maximising equipment availability and reliability, and supporting a high-performing maintenance team.

Working closely with Operations, Planning, Reliability, Procurement and contractor partners, you will ensure maintenance activities align with operational requirements while delivering safe, cost-effective and sustainable outcomes for the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across the coal haulage fleet, support equipment and tyre management functions.
  • Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership, field engagement and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Support the planning and execution of preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to Maintenance Supervisors, Tyre Supervisors and frontline maintenance personnel.
  • Oversee tyre management performance, contractor engagement, lifecycle optimisation and cost control initiatives.
  • Monitor equipment reliability, maintenance performance and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Planning, Reliability, Procurement and Stores teams to maximise equipment availability.
  • Manage maintenance contractors and supplier relationships to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across maintenance and reliability functions.
  • Ensure maintenance records, statutory inspections and compliance documentation are maintained to a high standard.
About You:

You are a safety-focused maintenance leader who thrives in a dynamic mining environment. You enjoy leading teams, building strong stakeholder relationships and driving maintenance performance through effective planning, execution and continuous improvement.

You bring a practical approach to problem solving, strong leadership capability and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective maintenance outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A relevant trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or similar recognised trade discipline).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a maintenance environment, preferably within mining, heavy industry or mobile equipment maintenance.
  • Strong experience with heavy mobile equipment, coal haulage fleets and support equipment maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in tyre management, including OTR tyre maintenance, tyre performance optimisation and contractor management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Planning, Reliability, Procurement and Maintenance teams.
  • Experience leading and developing supervisors, tradespeople and contractors.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management systems, maintenance planning processes and statutory compliance requirements.
  • A commitment to safety leadership, continuous improvement and fostering a high-performance team culture.
Desirable:
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent supervisory qualification.
  • Experience within open-cut coal mining operations.
  • Experience managing maintenance contractors, suppliers and service providers.
  • Experience with maintenance budgeting, cost control and resource planning.
  • Exposure to reliability engineering, condition monitoring and defect elimination initiatives.
