This role is a high-impact operational leadership position focused on managing and optimizing hospital-based service programs across a defined geographic region. The Director of Operations serves as the primary operational liaison between healthcare partners, internal clinical leadership, and cross-functional support teams, ensuring program success, compliance, and strong stakeholder relationships. You will play a critical role in driving performance outcomes, supporting hospital partnerships, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care services. The position requires strong executive presence, the ability to operate in complex healthcare environments, and a hands-on approach to relationship and program management. With frequent interaction across hospital leadership and physician groups, you will influence both strategic direction and day-to-day operational excellence. This is a highly visible role with significant travel and direct impact on patient care delivery systems nationwide.
- Lead the operational performance and management oversight of assigned hospital-based programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and partner expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospital executives, clinical leaders, and community physicians to ensure collaboration and program success.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract negotiations, renewals, financial discussions, and operational performance reviews within the assigned region.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including clinical leadership, recruiting, credentialing, HR, and scheduling to ensure seamless program operations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, executive business meetings, and operational check-ins with hospital partners to assess outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support onboarding and implementation of new hospital programs in collaboration with internal deployment teams.
- Identify operational risks, propose solutions, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations.
- Oversee financial and operational performance of assigned programs, including review of billing structures, fee arrangements, and program economics.
- Drive business development support activities, including expansion opportunities, proposal development, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Represent the organization in meetings with hospital leadership, physicians, and external stakeholders while reinforcing value proposition and service excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 3–5+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, medical services, or hospital-based program management.
- Strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems, hospital operations, and physician practice management (obstetrical experience preferred).
- Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and operate effectively in matrixed organizational environments.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets, pricing structures, and program performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage hospital executives, physicians, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive healthcare and client-facing situations.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across assigned regions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with healthcare terminology and regulations.
- Competitive annual compensation ranging from $135,000 to $145,000 USD, plus eligibility for incentive programs.
