Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced strategic communications advisor for a mid to senior level role. With a passion for storytelling and a background in external communications for PR/GR in defence, the ideal candidate will think strategically in the creation of international campaigns, while executing tactically to develop engaging artifacts supporting the companys marketing and communications objectives.
This role is a key member of a team that spans Canada and the UK and supports our defence community internationally.
What youll do
- You are a strategic communicator with a sharp eye for detail. You are a trusted advisor to the team and the organization writ large and help to shape our narrative. You develop and execute on strategic communications artifacts and campaign plans to position the organization with stakeholders across the Canadian, British, and Allied Armed Forces.
- You are proactive, organized and adaptable. You act as a liaison with both internal and external stakeholders. You support multiple projects simultaneously, helping manage editorial calendars, timelines and deliverables while maintaining a high standard of quality. You keep your cool during crisis communications, and you can just as easily jump into supporting internal and executive communications.
- You are curious and improvement focused. You track metrics to support continuous improvement. You know where you can infuse AI whilst always keeping our established tone to ensure your products feel clear, consistent and human.
- You align with our mission, vision and values and believe in giving back. You support communications related to corporate social responsibility initiatives and community engagement. You believe in the strength of solid relationships and networks.
- You collaborate and pitch in. As part of a small but mighty team, you are comfortable leaning in, supporting teammates, and contributing to a wide range of marketing and communications initiatives and events.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong original content creation with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- French (intermediate or above) is considered an asset
- Experience in Defence is considered a strong asset
- We work flexibly, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Due to the nature of our work, occasional overtime may be required during evenings and weekends.
Additional Information
The expected salary range for this position is $85,000$105,000 per annum.
The final compensation will be determined based on an assessment of the candidates qualifications, including relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity considerations.
