Method to assess remote work: Staff meetings every other week, monitoring the nature preserve and implementation of a park research project are the outcomes.
Job Description
- The assistant will, in part, support management of the Horatio Colony Nature Preserve.
- Preserve duties include upkeep of cabin (2 hours) and upkeep of signage and supplies at the trailhead kiosk (2 hours).
- The most significant part of the position is the design, implementation, analysis, and documentation of a field research project at the Ashuelot River Park with a focus on collecting data to inform the possible removal or repair of a dam in the Ashuelot River (11 hours).
- Possibility for continuation into additional terms.
Qualifications
- Land management and field research experience is a plus.
- Experience in education is helpful. However, this is a job for sharing skills and learning more.
- Willingness to learn is the most important qualification.
