This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join a mission-driven and rapidly scaling fintech environment focused on innovation and operational excellence. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting operations, contribute to financial reporting integrity, and help strengthen internal controls and scalable processes as the organization continues to grow. You will collaborate closely with finance, technical accounting, procurement, and cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and support strategic decision-making. The position offers significant exposure to SaaS accounting practices, automation initiatives, and process optimization projects. Ideal candidates are analytical, detail-oriented, and energized by solving complex accounting challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced remote environment where continuous improvement and collaboration are highly valued.

Accountabilities:
  • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Manage key accounting areas including accrued expenses, internally developed software accounting, deferred commissions, and related close processes.
  • Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls over financial reporting to support scalability and compliance objectives.
  • Perform financial flux analysis and prepare reporting insights and metrics for finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, procurement, technical accounting, and operational teams to align accounting practices with business objectives.
  • Support the implementation and operationalization of new accounting standards, processes, and documentation requirements.
  • Assist with external audits, tax-related requests, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, ensuring consistent execution of processes and supporting professional development.
  • Lead automation and AI-driven accounting initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and accelerating the close cycle.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within SaaS, technology, or high-growth environments.
  • Prior experience in public accounting, ideally within a Big 4 firm environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, particularly ASC 350 and ASC 340 within SaaS organizations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and process improvement.
  • Experience leading or implementing AI-powered accounting automation tools and workflow enhancements.
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Availability to work standard business hours aligned with the PST time zone.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $155,000 USD, with potential for additional bonus or equity opportunities.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 4% and no plan fees.
  • Flexible paid time off policies and generous parental leave programs.
  • Mental health and wellness support for employees and dependents.
  • Fertility and family-forming assistance programs.
  • Student loan planning and repayment support resources.
  • Monthly work-from-home stipend and quarterly lifestyle allowance.
  • Continuous learning opportunities and career development within a high-growth environment.
