Regional Field Operations Manager – Metal Installation Projects
Location: Virginia
Travel: Regional travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic required
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Compensation: Starting around $90,000 annually, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview
An established construction and fabrication operation is seeking a skilled field operations leader to oversee miscellaneous metals installation projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This position will manage field personnel, coordinate site activities, maintain safety standards, and ensure successful project execution from kickoff through completion.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership abilities, hands-on construction knowledge, and experience supervising crews in a fast-paced industrial or commercial environment.
Core Responsibilities- Supervise and support field foremen, installers, and subcontracted labor on active project sites
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture through ongoing training, site inspections, and compliance enforcement
- Ensure all field activities follow OSHA regulations, company procedures, and project-specific safety standards
- Coordinate workforce schedules, material deliveries, equipment usage, and daily site logistics
- Work closely with project management teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain schedules and project objectives
- Track installation progress and communicate updates regarding timelines, labor needs, and field conditions
- Oversee installation work involving rail systems, stair assemblies, structural metals, rigging activities, and finishing details
- Maintain workmanship and quality expectations throughout all phases of installation
- Anticipate staffing requirements and assist with labor planning across multiple projects
- Support problem-solving efforts in the field to keep projects moving efficiently
- 10 or more years of experience in miscellaneous metals, steel installation, or related construction trades
- Proven experience leading field teams, superintendents, or foremen on commercial or industrial projects
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 standards and common welding methods including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
- Experience using construction coordination and drawing software such as Bluebeam, Trimble Connect, or Tekla
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including occasional overnight stays
