Responsibilities
State Farm’s Administrative Services department is seeking an Operations Technician to join our Enterprise Facility Services team in Bloomington, Illinois. This position provides maintenance support for all Bloomington locations and offers an inviting work environment, variety in day-to-day responsibilities, and a rewarding professional experience.
This position is classified as an in-office role, meaning the work arrangement requires all work to be performed from a State Farm facility. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Please note: The selected candidate will have a training and upskilling period lasting approximately 1-3 months and will work Monday – Friday, 7:00 am - 3:15 pm or 8:00 am - 4:15 pm.
Incumbency period:
This position will have a 12-month incumbency period for a lateral move and a 6-month incumbency period for a promotional opportunity (beginning on the effective date of the position) which must be met before the employee can post for any other State Farm position. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides technical, catastrophe support and facility support
- Maintains service and tracks facilities maintenance and technology issues
- Coordinates, tracks, and estimates project work
- Reads floor plans and applies company standards to work assignments
- Executes support services in a team environment
- Serves as a liaison and resource for business partners, vendor inquiries and troubleshoots for resolution
Qualifications
Previous experience preferred:
- Industrial or commercial maintenance education and/or experience
- HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical experience is a plus
Additional details:
- May require travel by motor vehicle and/or commercial transportation, must have valid drivers license
- Overnight travel may be required
- May be required to work beyond normal business hours, including varying shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on workload and as operations dictate
- On-call duties may be required
- May require activities such as pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching, sitting for prolonged periods of time, climbing into confined spaces or repetitive motions
- Must complete and maintain State Farm safety, regulatory, and compliance courses specific to the role
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize team lifts or equipment to handle loads over 50 lbs.
- May be required to provide support during a catastrophe
- Must be able to distinguish colors for AV, electrical and communication work and wiring
- May repair and refurbish equipment

- Potential starting salary range: $45,337.50 - $59,000
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 9% of base salary
