Senior Functional Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Functional Consultant based in India.

This role sits at the intersection of supply chain strategy, business consulting, and technology transformation, focusing on delivering end-to-end supply chain planning solutions for complex global clients. You will work on shaping and executing supply chain planning engagements across demand, supply, S&OP, inventory, and network optimization processes, ensuring high-impact business outcomes. The position involves leading consulting teams across multiple geographies, managing client stakeholders, and driving structured execution in ambiguous and fast-moving environments. You will also support solution selection, implementation, and adoption of advanced supply chain planning tools and platforms. In addition, the role contributes to building consulting capabilities, developing reusable assets, and supporting pre-sales initiatives to expand practice offerings. This is a high-visibility consulting role requiring strong leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to bridge business and technology effectively.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead supply chain planning consulting engagements across industries, ensuring timely delivery and strong client outcomes
  • Define and execute supply chain strategies covering demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, inventory, and distribution optimization
  • Manage cross-functional teams and geographically distributed stakeholders across complex transformation programs
  • Guide clients in selecting, implementing, and adopting supply chain planning solutions and technologies
  • Provide functional expertise and process guidance aligned with industry best practices and benchmarks
  • Support pre-sales activities and contribute to building new supply chain consulting offerings and reusable delivery assets
  • Lead teams through ambiguity, ensuring structure, accountability, and high-quality delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Collaborate with client and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, communication, and successful program execution

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of experience in supply chain consulting or supply chain planning roles with strong technology exposure
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, S&OP, MRP, inventory, and network optimization processes
  • Hands-on experience in at least two supply chain planning implementations using tools such as o9 or similar platforms
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven planning systems or custom-built supply chain planning solutions is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large datasets; knowledge of SQL, R, or Python is a plus
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrix environment
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining structure and delivery focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Educational background in engineering, business, or management from reputed institutions preferred
