Regional Business Director, Diabetes

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Business Director, Diabetes based in the United States.

This is a high-impact commercial leadership role responsible for driving sales performance and team success across a multi-state diabetes-focused territory.
You will lead, coach, and inspire a team of sales professionals while shaping regional strategy and ensuring execution against ambitious business goals.
The role blends field leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on sales enablement within a complex and competitive healthcare market.
You will play a key part in developing top-tier talent, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring consistent achievement of commercial targets.
Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will translate corporate strategy into actionable field execution plans.
This position requires strong market insight, leadership presence, and the ability to influence outcomes in specialty and diabetes care environments.
It is a highly visible role with direct impact on patient outcomes, team development, and regional business growth.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing regional sales team by recruiting, hiring, coaching, and retaining top commercial talent aligned with organizational goals.
  • Drive sales performance across the assigned territory by setting clear expectations, monitoring KPIs, and ensuring consistent achievement of revenue and growth targets.
  • Conduct regular field visits, business reviews, and coaching sessions to improve execution, strengthen capabilities, and reinforce accountability.
  • Foster a strong performance-driven culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Translate national and regional strategies into actionable plans, ensuring alignment and execution across all sales activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to share insights, align priorities, and support coordinated commercial execution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including physicians and key opinion leaders, within the diabetes ecosystem.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in biopharma, medical device, diagnostics, biotechnology, or life sciences commercial roles.
  • 2–5+ years of proven sales leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong background in specialty sales environments, ideally including diabetes, rescue markets, or complex healthcare selling.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance through KPIs, analytics, and structured field execution.
  • Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and developing sales teams to exceed targets.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced and competitive markets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%), including field visits across the assigned territory (AZ, CA).
