Position Overview
Pet Meadow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and service. This role is responsible for managing a team, optimizing workflows, and maintaining operational efficiency in a sensitive and regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee end-to-end production operations across all service areas
· Implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
· Manage, lead, and support a team of approximately 16–24 employees
· Managing production schedules to meet output targets, customer deadlines, and cost constraints.
· Ensure smooth coordination of schedules, staffing, and workflow
· Supervise drivers and oversee cremation and aquamation operations
· Ensuring compliance with OSHA, DEP, and industry‑specific regulations.
· Maintain high standards of service, safety, and professionalism
· Budgeting and cost control for labor, materials, and equipment.
· Monitor performance using KPIs such as OEE, throughput, and downtime. Provide coaching, training, and development to team members
· Collaborate with leadership to improve operational processes and efficiency
· Handle escalations and support team members in sensitive or emotional situations
· Vendor and supply chain coordination to maintain material availability and minimize downtime.
· Assist in planning and implementing operational improvements
Qualifications:
· 5 years of experience in managing operations, supervisory, or general management role
· Strong leadership and team management skills
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· High level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail
· Experience with transportation and dispatch operations
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
· Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen certificate holder
Additional Requirements:
· Demonstrated sensitivity and professionalism when handling deceased pets and interacting with grieving pet owners
· Ability to work in environments involving exposure to biological materials, strong odors, elevated temperatures, and operational equipment
· Ability to comply with workplace safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
· Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and manual handling
· Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as required
