Job Description

General Manager, Invoice Simple

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a General Manager, Invoice Simple based in Canada.

This senior leadership role is responsible for driving the overall performance, strategy, and growth of a leading SaaS invoicing product serving hundreds of thousands of small businesses globally. You will act as the end-to-end owner of the business, shaping product-led growth strategy, optimizing revenue and retention, and ensuring strong alignment across product, engineering, marketing, data, and customer-facing teams. The role operates in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where cross-functional influence is essential and success is measured through business outcomes. You will be accountable for both strategic direction and operational execution, balancing long-term vision with short-term performance. This is a highly visible leadership position that requires strong commercial instincts, analytical rigor, and the ability to bring clarity across complex stakeholder groups.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the full business performance of the product, including revenue growth, retention, engagement, and profitability, ensuring accountability for end-to-end outcomes.
  • Define and evolve product-led growth strategy across onboarding, activation, pricing, and expansion in partnership with cross-functional leaders.
  • Align and coordinate Product, Engineering, Growth, Marketing, Data, Research, and Support teams around clear priorities and execution plans.
  • Drive cross-functional decision-making, including trade-offs and prioritization, without direct line management authority.
  • Partner with insights and analytics teams to set targets, monitor performance, and continuously refine strategy based on data.
  • Ensure alignment with broader portfolio and payments strategies while maintaining strong product autonomy where needed.
  • Communicate business performance, risks, and opportunities clearly and consistently to senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in SaaS product, growth, or general management roles with ownership of business-level outcomes.
  • Proven track record of leading a SaaS product or product line with accountability for revenue, retention, and profitability.
  • Strong expertise in product-led growth (PLG) and subscription-based SaaS business models.
  • Demonstrated success working across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Growth, Data, and Customer functions in complex environments.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach to prioritization and strategy.
  • Ability to influence and align senior stakeholders through clarity, structure, and strong communication.
  • Experience setting strategy and driving execution in environments without direct managerial authority over all contributors.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to bring structure, focus, and alignment in ambiguous contexts.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package based on experience, location, and market benchmarks.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or in-office options within Canada or the United States.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including annual wellness stipend.
  • RRSP/TFSA retirement savings plans with company matching.
  • Generous and flexible paid time off policy.
  • Professional development support, including learning and development allowance.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program offering participation in company ownership.
  • Opportunity to lead a high-impact SaaS business with significant scale and strategic importance.
