Responsibilities
- Safely and promptly transport patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Communicate any patient care needs or situations to the clinical staff effectively.
- Ensure all transport equipment is functional, clean, and ready for use.
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Assist in the movement and positioning of patients as required.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Previous medical background experience preferred.
- Nursing Assistant Level I certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Attributes:
- Stamina and endurance to walk or stand for long periods.
- Strength to lift and move patients and equipment, often involving weights up to 50 pounds or more.
- Good hand-eye coordination for operating transport equipment and assisting patients.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as necessary.
- Balance and coordination to maintain stability while moving patients and navigating hospital corridors.
