Job Description
The Children’s Diabetes Foundation is looking for a Development Associate to be a force multiplier for the Executive Director (ED) and the Development Team. The Development Associate is responsible for assisting the ED with daily operations and supporting the Development team with donor outreach and stewardship, calendar scheduling, and travel arrangements. This role will also manage the process of locating, applying, and reporting on grants while also being instrumental in allowing the Development Team to focus on direct donor interactions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage complex scheduling, prioritize meetings, and handle inbox correspondence for the Executive Director
2. Prepare reports, draft documents, take meeting minutes, and maintain filing system
3. Coordinate, track, and manage ED level projects and deadlines
4. Maintain database integrity and import new donor records
5. Manage entirety of grant writing process from locating and applying, to reporting
6. Create ad hoc donor reports and segmented lists
7. Draft and edit donor correspondence as needed
8. Manage tax acknowledgement process
9. Coordinate travel arrangements and scheduling donor meetings
10. Support strategic tasks and maintain operational efficiency of Development team
11. Lead recognition efforts for partnerships, sponsorships, and donors
12. Other responsibilities to support the Development operation as needed
KEY PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
1. Manage up to the development team and ED with next steps and reminders for current priorities
2. Excellent execution of our donor acknowledgement process to steward our donors
3. Accurate and timely data entry into the donor database
4. Achieve yearly grant budget expectations
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2+ years of experience in an administrative role reporting directly to upper management required
2. Project management experience preferred
3. Grant writing and reporting experience required
4. Experience at a nonprofit or fundraising office preferred
5. Total personal alignment with our mission and vision and commitment to our core values
6. Experience with Microsoft Office
7. Experience in CRM administration a plus but not required
8. Able to establish trust and strong working relationships with colleagues, partners, and donors
9. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in written form
10. Adept in managing multiple projects and competing priorities
11. High degree of organization and excellent use of systems
