Job Description

Revenue Accounting Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to lead revenue accounting activities across multiple business units in a complex, project-driven environment. You will provide financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and controls related to customer contracts and project revenue. A key focus will be revenue recognition under percentage-of-completion methods, including analysis of project costs and deliverables. You will partner closely with Controllers, Program Managers, business leaders, and senior management to challenge assumptions and improve financial visibility. The role also contributes to audits, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives. This is a collaborative position suited to an analytical accounting professional who enjoys working across functions and turning financial data into actionable insights.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage revenue recognition for customer contracts, with a focus on project-related revenue analysis, recording, reporting, and forecasting based on project deliverables, costs, and percentage-of-completion recognition.
  • Review monthly general ledger reconciliations for revenue-related accounts and project data, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Partner with Business Unit Controllers and Program Managers to support estimated costs at completion, challenge forecasting assumptions, monitor costs against budgets, and develop models for actual and forecast results.
  • Provide timely revenue reporting and variance analysis to business leaders, Controllers, Program Managers, and senior management.
  • Prepare and review corporate reporting packages covering revenue and project-related financial information.
  • Prepare accounting memos and checklists for customer contracts in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Support revenue recognition and project accounting process improvements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley self-assessments and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, ad hoc reporting and analysis, and broader accounting and finance initiatives.
  • Provide backup and support to other members of the finance team as needed.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting designation strongly preferred; experience with a major accounting or audit firm is an asset.
  • 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing, high-technology, or similarly complex environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP or IFRS, along with general and cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with revenue and cost analysis and financial audits is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify significant issues, explain findings, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and following established procedures and system controls.
  • Strong technical capabilities and experience working with integrated ERP systems; SAP/S4 HANA experience is preferred.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
Benefits:
  • Salary range of $103,900–$138,500 CAD, plus bonus opportunity.
  • Paid time off.
  • RRSP with employer matching.
  • Health and wellness benefits.
  • Learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Employee referral program.
  • Employee recognition programs.
  • Employee stock purchase plan.
  • Inclusive and supportive work culture.
  • Remote work arrangement.
