This is a senior technical accounting role supporting audit, advisory, and financial reporting teams on complex IFRS matters.
You will provide authoritative guidance on accounting issues, help teams navigate evolving reporting requirements, and contribute to high-quality client outcomes.
The role combines technical expertise with stakeholder engagement, professional development, and thought leadership.
You will participate in consultations, technical reviews, accounting standard groups, and the development of training and technical publications.
You will also build trusted relationships with clients, professional bodies, and internal stakeholders across multiple service lines.
As a senior member of the team, you will coach and mentor professionals while contributing to operational priorities and practice development.

- Provide technical accounting consultations and practical IFRS guidance to audit, advisory, and other professional service teams.
- Analyze complex accounting and financial reporting matters and develop solutions aligned with applicable IFRS requirements and legislation.
- Perform pre-issuance technical reviews of financial statements for listed entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Support the technical learning and development of the wider audit practice through technical updates, publications, presentations, and training materials.
- Participate actively in accounting standard subject matter groups and contribute to the interpretation and implementation of emerging requirements.
- Engage directly with clients to provide technical accounting and financial reporting support and communicate complex matters clearly.
- Build strong internal and external relationships with colleagues, clients, professional bodies, and relevant industry organizations.
- Contribute to the organization's technical profile and reputation through high-quality client service and professional engagement.
- Supervise, coach, and mentor team members, supporting their technical development and professional growth.
- Contribute to team operations, priorities, and delivery while maintaining high standards and meeting required deadlines.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant in South Africa (CA (SA)).
- At least 6 years of relevant professional experience with a thorough and practical understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proven experience analyzing complex accounting issues and developing technically sound solutions in accordance with applicable accounting standards and legislation.
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise, ideally gained within an audit, advisory, or professional services environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to express and defend technical accounting views.
- Ability to present complex technical topics clearly and succinctly, including explaining their implications and potential impact to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt priorities when required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting demanding deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, clients, and professional organizations.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring professionals and contributing to the development of technical capabilities within a team.
