Job Description

Position Title: R&D Manager Regulatory Affairs
Location: HE, DE
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Description:

The position is for a PS&RA Systems, Technical Data and Project Management in Regulatory Affairs with focus on operational and technical support across hair categories and brands. Initially the position will be primarily focused on the full integration of Briogeo brand line within Wella processes and systems, thus enabling Briogeo’s global innovation strategy, also behind an improvement of Briogeo’s technical readiness efficiency and speed.

The Project Management responsibility of the role includes the coordination of all PS&RA related activities including the Safety Assessments, especially through leading the interface with outsourced capabilities, and preparedness for PS&RA approvals/worldwide registrations

Other responsibilities across product lines and brands include: (i) Ensuring that all regulatory documentation is structured, maintained, and submission-ready in accordance with international regulatory standards and guidelines. (ii) Contribute to the development and establishment of new system tools and digital solutions designed to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and accelerate PS&RA operations. (iii) Drive continuous improvements by identifying/implement opportunities to optimize processes, reduce manual effort, and increase overall effectiveness of PS&RA operations, with a “digital first” mindset.

The position includes the following responsibilities

  • Enable the full integration of Briogeo line-up into Wella PS&RA/R&D systems and ways of working.

  • Assist in Briogeo’s project management activities, including interfacing with outsourced PS&RA capabilities, as well as with PS&RA deliverables related to documentation, planning, tracking, and risk assessments/communication.

  • Support the development, implementation, and optimization of new system tools, digital solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities aimed at improving PS&RA efficiency, speed and productivity across Regulatory Affairs and Product Safety disciplines.

  • Identify (and implement) opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing workflows and data handling practices.

  • Support ongoing PS&RA activities by effectively use document management systems to organize, maintain, and control regulatory documentation. Contribute to the preparation, organization, and maintenance of compliant regulatory documentation, in alignment with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Represent PS&RA in cross-R&D/Company-wide projects aimed at establishing new IT/Digital/AI capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Sufficient education/command on chemistry topics (and scientific topics in general) as to manage R&D/PS&RA-relevant documentation and data.

  • At least Bachelor degree in scientific disciplines demonstrated experience in scientific data management/modeling. Alternatively, education level equivalent to a Master Degree in scientific disciplines

  • Advanced IT skills and quick learner of new software/databases. Knowledge of programming will constitute a preferential qualification (especially with languages such as Python and Java).

  • Proven ability to handle complex projects based on large datasets. Experience with projects involving modeling/systems will be a plus.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills to complete assignments accurately

  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team, with diverse groups of people at various levels.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while being flexible to changes in priorities and interruptions as well as in working hours

  • Very good English skills, both oral and in written; Knowledge of a second foreign language would be a plus.

  • Strong written communication skills, especially on detail-oriented and technical topics

  • High degree of commitment and strong motivation for career in systems/technical data management/IT for R&D-Regulatory Affairs
