POSITION TITLE: Guest Room Host (Housekeeping & Guest Experience)

JOB TYPE: Full and Part-time

PAY: $18.00 per hour to Start

REPORTS TO: Property Management

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Guest Room Host, you create the foundation of the guest experience. Through thoughtful preparation, attention to detail, and genuine care, you ensure every room feels welcoming, comfortable, and reflective of The Gables’ standards. More than cleaning rooms, you create spaces where guests can relax, recharge, and feel genuinely cared for.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare guest rooms to the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards before each arrival.
  • Make beds using established hotel standards, ensuring a crisp, inviting appearance.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms and bathrooms.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, artwork, and decorative elements with care.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
  • Replenish linens, towels, bath amenities, complimentary water, and other guest amenities.
  • Inspect rooms carefully to ensure every detail meets quality standards before guest arrival.
  • Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Respect guest privacy and follow all security procedures when entering occupied rooms.
  • Respond warmly and professionally to guest requests, communicating with management when additional assistance is needed.
  • Participate in seasonal deep cleaning, preventative maintenance projects, and special housekeeping initiatives to ensure the property remains beautiful and well cared for.
  • Maintain organized, well-stocked housekeeping areas and assist with inventory management to ensure the team has everything needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Launder guest towels and linens, maintain linen inventory, and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Deliver requested guest items—including extra towels, blankets, irons, and other amenities—in a friendly, timely manner while maintaining accurate records of loaned items.
  • Support teammates across the property as needed to ensure every guest enjoys an outstanding stay.
  • Take ownership of the care, appearance, and guest experience of The Gables, always looking for ways to elevate the stay of every guest.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience & Skills
    • Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, or customer service experience preferred but not required. We hire for attitude and character first. Hospitality experience is valuable, but kindness, curiosity, and a willingness to learn matter most.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members.
    • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
    • Flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. as needed
  • Continuous use of hands and arms
  • Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting
  • Maintains a polished, professional appearance consistent with The Gables’ hospitality standards.
