Manager, Financial Systems

Wilsonart is seeking a Manager, Financial Systems to lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of financial systems across Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud Financials platforms. This role combines deep financial systems and process expertise with leadership of high-performing teams in a complex, multi-phase ERP transformation environment.

Role Summary

The Manager, Financial Systems owns the strategic roadmap and operational excellence for core financial applications, ensuring consistency across business units and integration with Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Manufacturing, and Costing processes. This position plays a key role in the Finance & Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE), partnering with Finance leadership, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to standardize processes, improve financial data integrity, and support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Systems Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of functional and technical professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Act as functional lead for financial systems in Oracle EBS and Oracle Cloud Financials, setting standards and guiding solution decisions across business units
  • Create and maintain a Center of Excellence for operational finance processes and associated applications and systems for continuous improvement of financial processes
  • Lead the planning and delivery of strategic and tactical initiatives to the business leveraging Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Cloud Financials
  • Promote the adoption of best practices in finance application management and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide functional leadership for projects, enhancements, and rollouts impacting financial systems, including planning, impact assessment, and testing strategy
  • Enable and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities with system readiness and issue resolution

Cross-Functional Solution Design

  • Lead cross-functional workshops to capture business requirements, challenge legacy practices, and design future-state processes for financial systems
  • Translate strategic business objectives into detailed functional designs and Oracle configurations, following Oracle best practices
  • Ensure the successful delivery of business requirements through hands-on functional configuration and solution design aligned with Oracle best practices
  • Conduct business workshop sessions and facilitate/document business requirements to understand business demand and initiatives and align technology solutions with business goals
  • Provide hands-on setup and functional module implementation/configuration of Oracle Financial modules, both on-premise and in the cloud
  • Collaborate with technical teams on solution architecture, integrations, and data strategies related to Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
  • Partner with Finance leadership, Procurement, Manufacturing, and IT teams to align financial system design with business process optimization and standardization
  • Serve as the business process and system solutions subject matter expert to assist the organization in optimizing, standardizing, and improving system solutions and business processes

Knowledge Management & Team Development

  • Mentor and guide team members and key users on best practices for Oracle financial systems
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, process maps, and training materials for financial processes and systems
  • Serve as escalation point for complex financial systems issues and defects
  • Build functional expertise within the organization through knowledge transfer, training sessions, and hands-on coaching
  • Stay current on Oracle product roadmaps (both EBS and Cloud), financial systems best practices, and industry trends
  • Proactively partner with Oracle and other financial systems providers to understand relevant best practices and deliver new system functionality and solutions to support accounting, reporting, and financial planning

Release Management & Implementation Support

  • Oversee release management, including ownership and accountability of the release management process to include prioritizing, planning, building, testing, and deployment/execution in accordance with compliance requirements and internal controls
  • Prepare and/or validate solutions for enhancements against Oracle best practices
  • Lead and be responsible for data conversion, cutover planning, go-live execution, and post-production support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, and IT to ensure seamless integration across business processes
  • Drive process efficiency and lead organizational change management efforts to support system transformation
  • Manage work stream scope, change requests, and delivery against defined milestones; mitigate and remediate risk factors and propose solutions based on best practices

Experience and Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in financial systems, including hands-on implementation of Oracle EBS (R12) and Oracle Cloud Financials
  • Experience in at least three EBS implementation cycles in current release of Oracle EBS Applications (R12) or Oracle Cloud
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle modules including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Purchasing, Cash Management, TCA Customer Model, SLA (Subledger Accounting), EB-Tax, and Costing
  • Complete and thorough knowledge of ERP integration across Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing processes
  • Prior experience working with businesses that have intercompany and multi-currency transactions in a global business environment
  • Prior experience in defining systems requirements, designing and prototyping solutions, consulting with users on process transformation, testing, training, go-live, expertise in system cutovers, and defining support procedures
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing performance, and developing talent in a matrixed or global organization

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting transactions and internal financial controls
  • A strong combination of skills in functional and technical aspects of Oracle EBS core applications and Oracle Cloud Financials
  • Expertise in Oracle Financial modules and their integration with Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Manufacturing, and Costing processes
  • Data analysis and management of all operations data including, but not limited to, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, WIP, BOM, and Master Data
  • Familiarity with Oracle Application Implementation Methodologies (AIM), cloud deployment strategies, and Waterfall/Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to manage changes required for better adoption of new solution-driven processes
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of using financial systems analysis to drive process improvements and business value

Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrated ability to lead functional workstreams in complex, multi-business-unit implementation or transformation programs
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and to operate across functional lines
  • Proven experience facilitating workshops, gathering requirements, and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to balance business needs, technical constraints, and best practice standards
  • Experience influencing change management and process standardization initiatives across global organizations
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize competing business needs while delivering consistently high-quality and timely work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Oracle EBS or Oracle Cloud Financials
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CSCP, CPIM, or CPSM
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Background in global manufacturing or multi-business-unit environments with complex intercompany structures
  • Experience with regulatory compliance requirements and audit support in a global manufacturing context
  • Experience with M&A integration activities involving manufacturing and distribution operations
