Job Description

Finance Manager - International Tax & Compliance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Manager - International Tax & Compliance based in United States.

This is a high-ownership finance role focused on strengthening tax, compliance, and financial operations across a growing international organization.
You will oversee multi-entity tax compliance, international reporting obligations, intercompany arrangements, and crypto treasury governance.
The role spans entities across the US, Cayman Islands, and Costa Rica, with additional oversight of operations in the UK and Australia.
You will work closely with external tax advisors, accounting firms, outsourced providers, and internal finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely execution.
The position combines technical tax expertise with hands-on operational ownership in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
You will also help establish scalable processes and controls that support international expansion while proactively managing financial and regulatory risk.
This opportunity is well suited to a commercially minded finance professional who values precision, autonomy, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:
  • Own tax compliance across multiple group entities, including US, Cayman Islands, and Costa Rica operations, with oversight of relevant UK and Australian requirements.
  • Manage PFIC reporting and other international tax obligations, ensuring filings, elections, disclosures, and supporting documentation are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Partner with external tax advisors to interpret evolving requirements, resolve technical matters, and maintain strong compliance standards as the organization expands into new jurisdictions.
  • Manage intercompany loan agreements, balances, settlements, documentation, reconciliations, and relevant transfer-pricing considerations across entities.
  • Oversee crypto treasury compliance, including wallet and exchange reconciliations, fair-market-value recording, and group-wide visibility into cash and digital-asset positions.
  • Act as the finance owner for statutory and regulatory compliance across the organization’s international entities.
  • Coordinate local statutory filings, audits, and regulatory requirements while proactively identifying and mitigating jurisdictional compliance risks.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes and own payroll activities across entities and jurisdictions, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance with local employment and tax regulations.
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for external accounting firms and outsourced providers, managing deliverables, quality, deadlines, and accountability.
  • Evaluate outsourced finance arrangements and identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, or bring activities in-house as the organization scales.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and proactively identify potential compliance issues before they become operational or financial surprises.
  • Provide finance leadership with clear visibility into tax obligations, intercompany positions, treasury activities, and compliance risks.
Requirements:
  • CA/CPA qualification with relevant post-qualification experience in tax, finance, accounting, or compliance.
  • 6+ years of experience in Big 4 audit or consulting, including at least 2 years of PFIC-related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of international tax principles, with hands-on experience managing PFIC rules and reporting strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction structures, ideally involving US, Cayman Islands, and/or Costa Rica entities.
  • Demonstrated experience with intercompany loan structures, reconciliations, documentation, and related compliance considerations.
  • Experience overseeing statutory compliance, financial reporting, audits, and regulatory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to cryptocurrency or digital-asset treasury operations, including wallet/exchange reconciliation and valuation, is a strong advantage.
  • Experience overseeing accounts payable and payroll functions across multiple entities or jurisdictions.
  • Proven ability to manage external accounting firms, tax advisors, and outsourced finance providers while maintaining high standards for quality and timeliness.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with detailed financial data, reconciliations, and compliance schedules.
  • Experience with Campfire is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues.
  • Commercially aware and comfortable balancing rigorous compliance requirements with the needs of a fast-growing business.
  • Able to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership in an evolving, high-growth environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package with equity participation.
  • Remote-first working environment.
  • Flexible paid time off (PTO).
  • Fast-paced and collaborative environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
  • Opportunity to work across international entities and complex tax and compliance matters.
  • Exposure to digital-asset treasury operations and emerging financial structures.
  • Direct collaboration with senior finance leadership, external advisors, and international accounting partners.
