Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP SD Solution Architect based in India.
This is a senior architecture role focused on designing and delivering scalable SAP Sales & Distribution solutions across ECC and S/4HANA environments. You will work on development-intensive implementation and enhancement programs where SD capabilities continuously evolve through new features, change requests, and productized improvements. The role combines deep SAP SD expertise with strong knowledge of custom development, RICEFW, integrations, and clean-core-aligned extensibility. You will translate complex business needs into robust technical-functional designs and guide development teams through delivery. You’ll collaborate closely with ABAP, FI, MM, TM, EWM, and external system teams to build integrated end-to-end solutions. This is an opportunity to influence architecture, delivery standards, and long-term SAP transformation initiatives within a consulting environment.
- Own the solution architecture for SAP SD across development-heavy implementation, transformation, and enhancement programs.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical-functional designs, balancing standard SAP capabilities with appropriate custom solutions.
- Design and govern SD custom developments, including pricing logic, user exits, BADIs, enhancements, complex order processing, and output determination using technologies such as BRF+, SmartForms, and Adobe Forms.
- Lead functional specification development and collaborate with ABAP teams on RICEFW objects, including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Guide the use of CDS views, OData services, Fiori applications, and custom UI extensions to expose and enhance SD capabilities.
- Define S/4HANA extensibility strategies, including in-app versus side-by-side extensions, clean-core principles, and the appropriate use of SAP BTP and CPI.
- Drive integration architecture across FI, MM, TM, EWM, and third-party platforms such as 3PL providers, tax engines, and CRM systems.
- Review development designs and code impacts from a functional perspective and participate in architecture, design, and peer reviews.
- Lead SIT and UAT activities for development objects, including defect triage, issue resolution, and performance optimization.
- Support enhancement roadmaps, change-request estimation, backlog prioritization, and Agile delivery processes.
- Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership while ensuring solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
- 8–10 years of hands-on SAP SD experience, preferably with substantial exposure to development-intensive implementation and enhancement programs.
- Strong experience collaborating with ABAP teams on custom developments, enhancements, interfaces, and complex business requirements.
- Deep knowledge of SD exits, BADIs, pricing routines, custom logic, and enhancement frameworks.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies including IDocs, OData, REST APIs, and SAP CPI.
- Proven experience with S/4HANA SD transformations and designing clean-core-aligned custom extensions.
- Experience working within Big 4 or Tier-1 system integration consulting environments is preferred.
- Ability to operate as a functional architect for SAP SD development initiatives rather than focusing solely on configuration.
- Exposure to Fiori Elements, CDS-based analytics, SAP BRIM, Vistex, or complex pricing engines is advantageous.
- Experience with Agile or product-oriented delivery models is a plus.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and business topics clearly.
- Strong influencing and stakeholder-management abilities, with confidence working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated and collaborative, while capable of independently managing complex processes and modules.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, including the judgment to identify when issues require escalation.
- Comfortable operating in complex, fast-changing, deadline-driven environments while maintaining a calm and structured approach.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical or business discipline is preferred.
- Hybrid working model based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
- Opportunity to work on complex SAP ECC and S/4HANA transformation and enhancement programs.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale integrations across Finance, Procurement, Logistics, CRM, and third-party platforms.
- Opportunity to work with modern SAP technologies including BTP, CPI, CDS, OData, and Fiori.
- Consulting environment offering exposure to diverse industries, business challenges, and global stakeholders.
- Opportunities for professional growth through architecture ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and complex delivery engagements.
- Collaborative culture emphasizing trust, autonomy, agility, integrity, and continuous learning.
- Opportunity to contribute to AI/ML-enabled solutions and emerging technology initiatives within a broader consulting environment.
