Accountabilities
  • Own and develop the overall paid advertising strategy for nonpartisan voter education and get-out-the-vote campaigns, with a primary focus on Google Ads.
  • Align paid media plans with election timelines, priority geographies, audience needs, and broader organizational objectives.
  • Establish budget allocation, channel mix, performance targets, and forecasts for campaign reach and expected impact.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to paid media volunteers, including campaign managers and analysts.
  • Review campaign structures, pacing, bidding strategies, audience targeting, and creative approaches to improve performance.
  • Establish measurement standards in collaboration with analytics teams, including UTM structures, pixels and tags, conversion events, attribution, and reporting frameworks.
  • Ensure campaign performance data is accurately reconciled between advertising platforms and GA4.
  • Develop and maintain a structured testing roadmap covering audiences, creative concepts, landing-page experiences, and campaign approaches.
  • Analyze test results and campaign performance to identify meaningful insights and translate successful approaches into repeatable playbooks.
  • Support paid advertising across additional platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube as appropriate.
  • Maintain strong oversight of brand safety, privacy, political advertising policies, and applicable nonprofit requirements.
  • Ensure required platform verifications, disclaimers, and compliance practices are consistently implemented.
  • Coordinate effectively across marketing, analytics, and other organizational teams to ensure campaigns are strategically aligned and operationally effective.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of professional experience managing paid digital advertising campaigns, including ownership of strategy, performance, and budgets.
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads, including YouTube advertising, with the ability to oversee strategy, campaign setup, execution, optimization, and measurement.
  • Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, and Reddit Ads is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of GA4, UTM standards, pixels, tags, conversion tracking, and attribution methodologies.
  • Experience establishing measurement strategies and guiding analytics teams through tracking or performance issues.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or providing strategic direction to marketers or campaign specialists.
  • Strong strategic thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize effectively across multiple concurrent campaigns.
  • Experience developing testing strategies and using performance insights to improve campaign outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of advertising compliance, privacy, brand safety, and platform policies.
  • Experience with political, nonprofit, advocacy, or cause-related advertising is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong judgment, analytical thinking, and ability to make data-informed decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Currently located in the United States and able to work during core team hours, with at least one to two hours of overlap with U.S. Pacific Time each week.
  • Ability to contribute a minimum of 2 hours per week, with an expected commitment over at least six months.
  • Willingness to participate regularly in team meetings and collaborate within a fully remote volunteer environment.
  • Understanding that this is a 100% unpaid, volunteer-based position.
Benefits
  • 100% remote volunteer opportunity.
  • Opportunity to contribute to nonpartisan voter education and civic participation initiatives.
  • Ability to apply senior-level paid advertising expertise to campaigns with meaningful public impact.
  • Opportunity to shape paid media strategy across Google Ads and additional digital advertising platforms.
  • Leadership and mentorship opportunities with paid media volunteers and cross-functional contributors.
  • Flexible commitment of 2+ hours per week, coordinated around core team hours.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with a mission-driven, nationally recognized nonprofit technology community.
  • Exposure to complex campaign measurement, experimentation, political advertising compliance, and nonprofit digital marketing.
  • Opportunity to develop scalable paid media playbooks and influence long-term advertising strategy.
