Job Description

Summary

This position is part of our Retail Banking Team which oversees the day-to-day operations of their assigned branch. The focus is to ensure the branch functions optimally in the areas of development of new business and servicing existing accounts. They are also responsible for providing coaching and direction to retail staff in the pursuit of exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify and target prospective clients, including individuals, small businesses, and corporations, through networking, referrals, and cold calling.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the bank's market share.
• Actively promote and cross-sell the bank's products and services, such as checking and savings accounts.
• Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients, outlining how the bank's offerings can meet their financial needs.
• Participate and lead the efforts in bank approved community activities.
• Quotes products and rates in effort to promote and inform customers of the Bank’s products and services.
• Represents the Bank in business development efforts in the community and at community events.
• Helps customers by opening new accounts including DDA, savings, IRAs, certificates of deposit, safe deposit boxes, and other bank products.
• Enhances customer relationships by meeting and greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner, handling customer complaints and special circumstances.
• Maintains the exterior and interior of the branch to create a welcoming and professional environment for both customers and employees.
• Educates customers about common scams, identity theft risks, and fraud prevention measures in order to protect the Bank’s customers and assets.
• Follows established dual control procedures, including but not limited to, opening/closing the Branch.
• Ensures that night drop bags are properly collected, logged, and processed according to Bank procedures.
• Answers phone and assists callers and/or transfers callers to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains a work area which ensures the safety and confidentiality of all customer records and transactions.
• Ensures branch staff is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and rules governing the Bank’s products and services.
• Understands and complies with Bank Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML).
• Ensure that all branch logs, checklists, and reports are completed correctly by branch staff.
• Processes and/or approves wire transfers within established limit(s).
• Approves transactions for Teller and/or Vault Teller, including checks within limits.
• Provides support to departments of the Bank such as Deposit Operations, Loan Operations, etc.
• May be asked to champion a product or service and will from time to time be assigned specific projects by Management Team.
• Works as Teller or Vault Teller when needed.
• Directs and attends staff meetings as needed.
• Completes all assigned training, including but not limited to, compliance training.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Coaches, mentors, and motivates a team of Universal Banker(s) and Vault Teller(s) to excel in their roles and contribute to the success of the Bank.
• Reviews and approves time sheets for payroll processing.
• Sets performance expectations, conducts annual performance evaluations, and provides feedback to support professional growth and development of team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred. Will accept equivalent banking industry experience in lieu of associate or bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years of banking experience with 2 years in Bank branch management.
• Experience with Jack Henry Products is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Ability to accurately process and handle cash.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the applications, hardware, and software used in the Bank.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
