This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Strategic Customer Success Engineer - Central US based in United States.
This is a senior, customer-facing technical role focused on helping enterprise customers solve complex software security, compliance, and integration challenges. You will take technical ownership of strategic accounts while partnering closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes. The role combines hands-on technical consulting, customer strategy, troubleshooting, and solution design across sophisticated software environments. You will work with stakeholders ranging from engineering leaders and developers to legal and intellectual property professionals. - Lead technical consulting engagements for prospects and customers, including complex M&A initiatives involving open-source software licensing and vulnerability audits.
- Own the ongoing technical relationship and accountability for a portfolio of strategic customers, ensuring their technical needs and desired outcomes are addressed.
- Assess enterprise customer environments, stakeholder requirements, technical challenges, and implementation goals to develop practical and effective solutions.
- Design and support complex deployments and integrations, including CI/CD pipelines, build environments, plugins, and command-line tooling.
- Provide hands-on guidance for integrating solutions into customer-specific development and infrastructure environments.
- Partner closely with Customer Success Managers to develop customer strategies around complex technical integrations, adoption, and business outcomes.
- Build relationships with technical champions and become a trusted advisor to customers across engineering, software development, project management, legal, and intellectual property functions.
- Create and maintain clear, customer-facing technical documentation, implementation plans, and project materials.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to reproduce product issues, coordinate escalations, provide technical feedback, and support incident resolution.
- Identify opportunities to improve technical processes, remove customer obstacles, and strengthen the overall customer experience.
- Provide consultative guidance on threat modeling, software architecture, security risks, open-source software, and related development practices.
- Travel up to 20% as needed to meet with customers and support strategic engagements.
- Proven experience writing and maintaining scripts using languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, or similar.
- Strong experience creating and maintaining customer-facing technical documentation and implementation materials.
- Demonstrated ability to help customers plan and execute complex technical rollouts, including identifying stakeholders, dependencies, risks, and potential obstacles.
- Working knowledge of threat modeling and its application to modern software architectures, with the ability to provide practical technical recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with internal technical teams to reproduce product defects, coordinate escalations, and communicate effectively with engineering or on-call teams.
- Strong technical understanding of enterprise software environments, integrations, development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-first mindset with strong consulting, relationship-building, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking ownership in a fast-growing, evolving environment where processes may not always be fully defined.

- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with Customer Success, Product Management, Product Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience as a Technical Consulting Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar customer-facing technical role is preferred.
- Experience with open-source software license compliance consulting, particularly in M&A contexts, is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with private or on-premises SaaS environments, Kubernetes, connected or disconnected deployments, and complex implementation architectures is a plus.
- Knowledge of open-source licensing frameworks such as GPL, MIT, and Apache, as well as Software Composition Analysis (SCA) or Static Application Security Testing (SAST) tools, is advantageous.
- Understanding of software development security, vulnerability risks, build systems, and software development workflows is preferred.
- Previous experience with SaaS products requiring complex integrations or implementations is a plus.
- Experience contributing to open-source software is highly valued.
- Annual cash compensation range of $200,000–$240,000 OTE USD, with final compensation determined by experience and skills.
