Job Description

Title: Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager

Updated: August 2026

Hours: 20 hours/week, Monday – Friday, may require occasional evenings and weekends

Location: Onsite, primarily in our Dover, New Hampshire office with event-focused visits to our Sanford, Maine office. This position will actively travel within the community to cultivate and maintain relationships with our partners

Pay: $20-25/Hour

Summary
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the execution of marketing, communications, fundraising, and community engagement strategies. This position falls under the direct supervision and direction of the Marketing and Communications Manager,

ensuring consistent, on-brand messaging across all platforms while strengthening relationships with donors, sponsors, and the community. The Coordinator plays a key role in content creation, campaign execution, event support, and donor engagement to advance Great Bay Services’ mission and visibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Community Engagement & Donor Relations
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners through in-person, phone, email, and written outreach
  • Support Board engagement in fundraising and community initiatives
  • Represent GBS at community events, workshops, and networking opportunities
  • Maintain and track outreach activities and engagement efforts
  • Manage donor records in the database, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
  • Track, process, and acknowledge donations in coordination with Finance
  • Generate reports on donor activity, engagement, and campaign performance
  1. Marketing & Communications
  • Execute integrated marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals
  • Maintain editorial and communications calendars (events, campaigns, and outreach)
  • Create and distribute content across channels, including:
    • Social media
    • Website updates
    • Email newsletters (internal and external)
  • Ensure all communications align with brand standards, voice, and compliance requirements (including data privacy/HIPAA where applicable)
  • Coordinate marketing and promotion of events, including the annual Gala & Auction
  • Oversee production and inventory of promotional materials
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency of communication systems and processes
  1. Fundraising & Grants Support
  • Assist in planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including annual appeals
  • Identify and support grant and sponsorship opportunities, including research, applications, and reporting
  • Maintain stakeholder and prospect lists to support fundraising efforts
  • Ensure brand consistency across fundraising initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics and recommend improvements
  • Support online fundraising platforms, auctions, or donation tools
  1. Events & Organizational Support
  • Support planning, coordination, and promotion of organizational events
  • Ensure consistent presentation and professionalism at all public-facing activities
  • Assist with cross-functional reporting on marketing, communications, and fundraising efforts
  • Collaborate across departments to align messaging and outreach efforts

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • CFRE certification or interest in fundraising strongly encouraged
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media management and content creation best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor/database management systems
  • Experience with website platforms (e.g., Weebly) and media editing tools preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills preferred
  • Reliable transportation required

  • Successful completion of background and credit checks required
