Job Description

Creative Strategist (DTC E-Commerce)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Creative Strategist (DTC E-Commerce) based in United States.

This is a performance-focused creative strategy role within a fast-growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce environment. You will own the creative system behind paid advertising, from customer research and ideation through production and performance analysis. Your work will directly influence acquisition, conversion, and profitable growth across paid channels. You’ll develop high-performing concepts, hooks, scripts, copy, and creative briefs while collaborating with designers, editors, and content creators. Data will guide your decisions, with continuous testing and iteration at the heart of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to build scalable creative processes, playbooks, and workflows rather than simply producing individual ads. The role offers significant autonomy, creative ownership, and direct exposure to commercial outcomes.

Accountabilities
  • Research customer reviews, surveys, forums, ad comments, competitors, offers, and landing pages to identify customer motivations, pain points, messaging opportunities, and creative angles.
  • Develop direct-response ad concepts, hooks, angles, scripts, VSLs, UGC concepts, static ads, carousels, and advertorial copy designed to drive measurable results.
  • Create detailed creative briefs for designers, video editors, and UGC creators, ensuring concepts are clearly translated into high-quality assets.
  • Own landing-page messaging and strategy for paid campaigns, collaborating with relevant teams to improve conversion and customer journeys.
  • Analyse advertising performance to identify winning patterns, creative fatigue, and new opportunities, using insights to guide future testing.
  • Develop variations of successful creative concepts across hooks, copy, CTAs, visuals, and formats to accelerate testing and scale performance.
  • Maintain a structured creative roadmap, testing cadence, launch schedule, production workflow, approvals process, and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain libraries of proven hooks, frameworks, winning structures, playbooks, and creative learnings.
  • Collaborate closely with performance marketing, design, video, and UGC teams to maintain a consistent flow of high-quality creative.
  • Present regular creative performance updates and actionable recommendations for future tests and improvements.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in direct-response creative strategy for DTC e-commerce, whether in-house, agency, or freelance.
  • Demonstrated experience writing or developing ad scripts, VSL scripts, and static ad copy that generated measurable commercial results.
  • Strong understanding of direct-response copywriting principles and frameworks such as AIDA and PAS.
  • Deep knowledge of Meta Ads and experience working in high-volume creative testing environments.
  • Proven ability to create detailed creative briefs and manage creative production workflows from concept through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of consumer psychology, buyer motivations, and the factors that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into clear, actionable creative direction.
  • Experience using AI-powered tools such as Claude or Gemini to support research, ideation, and content development.
  • Excellent written English with the ability to communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and concisely.
  • Highly analytical, commercially minded, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable making decisions based on evidence and testing.
  • Experience in health, wellness, supplements, or beauty DTC brands is a plus.
  • Experience with TikTok or YouTube advertising, UGC creator management, landing-page copywriting, or CRO is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Foreplay, Motion, Triple Whale, or Meta Ad Library is beneficial.
  • Basic video editing or design skills using tools such as CapCut, Premiere, Figma, or Canva are a plus.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant advertising work and the results achieved is required.
  • Availability for at least four hours of daily overlap with UK working hours is required.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work from anywhere in the world.
  • Flexible working arrangement with a minimum of four hours of daily UK/GMT timezone overlap.
  • Independent contractor structure with a competitive rate based on experience.
  • Paid time off, including UK bank holidays.
  • Significant ownership and creative freedom from concept through performance results.
  • Direct collaboration with founders and minimal management layers.
  • Opportunity to build and own a scalable creative strategy and testing system.
  • Work within a small, dedicated, results-oriented international team.
  • Opportunity to contribute to products focused on health and wellbeing.
  • Global applications are welcome.
