Certco, Inc. is seeking a Battery Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. In this hands-on role, you'll help keep our warehouse equipment powered, maintained, and operating efficiently while supporting one of the Midwest's leading grocery distributors.

What You'll Do

As a Battery Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping our warehouse running by maintaining forklift and pallet jack batteries and supporting warehouse equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Change forklift and electric pallet jack batteries throughout each shift.
  • Operate automatic battery changing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean, inspect, charge, and maintain industrial batteries.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on batteries, chargers, and battery changing equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe battery room.
  • Perform minor repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, chargers, and battery conveyor equipment.
  • Feed plastic into the plastic baler and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Complete scheduled inspections, reports, and maintenance documentation.
  • Notify management of equipment concerns and maintenance issues.
  • Support additional maintenance and janitorial duties as assigned, including work in refrigerated and freezer environments.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with equipment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications include:

  • 1–2 years of maintenance, mechanical, or related experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Electrical repair experience with forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
  • Experience using hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Requirements:

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday, 5:30am-4pm

Position Summary

Change forklift and pallet jack batteries daily. Service, clean and check all batteries, chargers, battery area and PM the battery puller machine.

Essential Job Functions

  • Change forklift and pallet jack batteries daily
  • Ensure all batteries are clean, properly charged and prepare all preventative maintenance required for the next warehouse crew
  • Clean battery area (daily)
  • Operate auto battery changing equipment
  • Repair forklifts, pallet jacks, battery’s conveyor system
  • Maintain scheduled reporting and documentation on battery fleet, notify management of discrepancies and email findings to key management
  • Feed plastic into bailer
  • Other duties will include janitor duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.
  • Work in the freezer and cooler department of the warehouse
  • Be regular in attendance and comply with the Company Attendance Policy

Competencies

  • Experience in electrical repairs of lift trucks and pallet jacks preferred
  • Experience in mechanical repairs is preferred
  • Experience in the use of hand and shop tools preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
