ICT Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a ICT Designer based in Canada.

This role focuses on the design and coordination of advanced ICT and low-voltage systems for large-scale, mission-critical data center projects across North America.
You will contribute to the development of structured cabling, telecommunications, security, and network infrastructure within highly complex hyperscale and AI-driven environments.
The position plays a key role in ensuring seamless integration of ICT systems into multidisciplinary building designs, from early concept through construction documentation.
You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and BIM teams, supporting the delivery of highly technical engineering solutions using modern design tools.
This is a hands-on design role requiring strong technical precision, collaboration skills, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-performance project environments.
The role offers exposure to cutting-edge infrastructure projects and advanced digital engineering practices within a global engineering context.

Accountabilities:
  • Design and coordinate ICT and low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, telecommunications, access control, CCTV, and security systems.
  • Develop detailed engineering documentation such as system layouts, technical specifications, design criteria, and equipment data sheets.
  • Produce and maintain BIM models and CAD drawings using tools such as Autodesk Revit, ensuring accurate multi-discipline coordination.
  • Perform engineering calculations and support technical validation of ICT infrastructure designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure ICT systems are fully integrated within overall building design.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and ensure compliance with design intent and technical requirements.
  • Support project delivery by tracking scope, cost, schedule, and engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update project documentation as design requirements evolve.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an ICT, telecommunications, or low-voltage systems designer/engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit is required, along with strong BIM modeling capabilities.
  • Experience designing structured cabling, telecommunications infrastructure, and security systems in complex environments.
  • Background in mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial building projects is highly valued.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications standards, low-voltage systems, and relevant engineering codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced project environment.
  • English proficiency (B1 level or higher) is required.
Benefits:
  • Competitive full-time compensation package.
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions (401k matching).
  • Paid time off, parental leave, and flexible scheduling options.
  • Health savings and flexible spending accounts.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage (short-term and long-term).
  • Employee assistance and professional development programs.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge data center and digital infrastructure projects.
  • Remote work flexibility within Canada.
  • Opportunities for career growth within a global engineering organization.
