Medical Affairs Specialist - Parasitology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Affairs Specialist – Parasitology based in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of veterinary science, medical strategy, and global collaboration, with a strong focus on parasitology and infectious disease diagnostics.
You will act as a scientific expert, helping shape medical messaging, education, and evidence generation that supports innovative diagnostic solutions used worldwide.
The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and global medical experts, as well as external Key Opinion Leaders.
You will contribute to advancing veterinary best practices through education, scientific engagement, and clinical insight.

This is a visible and impactful role where scientific expertise directly supports product innovation and veterinary community education.

Accountabilities:
  • Act as a subject matter expert in veterinary parasitology and infectious disease diagnostics, providing scientific and medical guidance across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with global medical teams, R&D, marketing, and external Key Opinion Leaders to support product development, positioning, and medical communications.
  • Deliver educational content, presentations, and scientific seminars at conferences, customer events, and professional forums.
  • Support the design, execution, and interpretation of clinical and scientific studies that strengthen medical evidence for diagnostic tools and veterinary practices.
  • Serve as a medical liaison between internal teams and the veterinary community, ensuring accurate and impactful scientific communication.
  • Contribute to training and education initiatives across the product lifecycle, from development through post-market support.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) required; DACVM (Parasitology) or equivalent specialization preferred, with MS or PhD considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine, academia, clinical practice, research, or the animal health industry.
  • Strong expertise in parasitology and solid understanding of infectious disease diagnostics and clinical applications.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and medical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including professionals and stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting at conferences, lectures, webinars, or continuing education events.
  • Strong analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and ability to develop or evaluate medical content and educational materials.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a cross-functional, global environment.
  • Comfortable using digital and technical tools, with fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for professional events and collaborations.
