Product Owner Marketing Technology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner – Marketing Technology based in the United States.

As a Product Owner – Marketing Technology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing a modern marketing technology ecosystem that supports customer acquisition, engagement, personalization, and revenue growth. This position combines strategic product leadership with hands-on execution, driving the evolution of marketing platforms and customer data capabilities across multiple business lines. Working at the intersection of marketing, technology, data, and customer experience, you will translate business objectives into scalable solutions that improve customer journeys and operational efficiency. You will lead transformational initiatives, champion data-driven decision-making, and explore emerging technologies such as AI and intelligent automation. Accountabilities
  • Define and own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and long-term direction for marketing technology products and capabilities.
  • Partner with marketing, engineering, data, sales, and business stakeholders to establish a unified marketing technology strategy and prioritize initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation, expansion, and optimization of customer engagement and marketing automation platforms.
  • Translate business objectives, customer needs, and marketing requirements into detailed product requirements, user stories, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Manage product delivery within Agile environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Enhance customer experiences across acquisition, engagement, conversion, retention, upsell, and cross-sell journeys.
  • Drive the development of segmentation, personalization, campaign orchestration, lead management, and lifecycle marketing capabilities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, generative AI, predictive analytics, and automation to improve marketing performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technology and data teams to support integrations across marketing platforms, CRM systems, customer data platforms, and data ecosystems.
  • Establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure customer engagement, conversion rates, revenue growth, platform adoption, and operational success.
  • Support testing and optimization initiatives through A/B testing, experimentation frameworks, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Promote consistent product management processes, governance, and best practices across teams.
  • Lead and mentor a small product team while remaining actively involved in strategic planning and execution.
  • Ensure solutions comply with data governance, privacy regulations, and organizational standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in both product management/product ownership and marketing technology environments.
  • Strong background owning product strategy, roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery processes for marketing automation, customer engagement, CRM, or MarTech platforms.
  • Deep understanding of customer lifecycle marketing, segmentation, personalization, acquisition, retention, and conversion strategies.
  • Experience translating business and marketing needs into technical requirements, user stories, and product specifications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, marketing, sales, CRM, data, and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams and aligning diverse priorities toward common goals.
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills with the ability to prioritize initiatives based on measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to engage directly in planning, execution, and decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in transformation environments where processes, systems, and operating models are evolving.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and enthusiasm for integrating AI tools into product management and decision-making processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement.
  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, customer data platforms (CDPs), or related customer data technologies.
  • Proven success leading large-scale MarTech implementations, migrations, or transformation programs.
  • Experience with enterprise marketing automation platforms such as Oracle Eloqua or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge of both B2C and B2B2C business models.
  • Familiarity with CRM integrations, lead management, lead scoring, data warehouses, and marketing data governance.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered personalization, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, or decisioning systems.
  • Previous people leadership experience or experience managing small product teams.
  • Background in subscription-based, e-commerce, professional education, or multi-brand organizations.
