Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the liaison between Engineering and Production, translating technical requirements into shop-ready processes. If you are a hands on, analytical problem solver who thrives on solving unique challenges, we would love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate 3D engineering assemblies and customer concepts into accurate 2D manufacturing prints and flat pattern layouts ready for the shop floor.
• Generate 3D models from 2D prints.
• Review incoming designs for Design for Manufacturability (DFM), identifying potential limitations before production release.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), setup sheets, and visual work instructions for operators to ensure repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Apply advanced knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to ensure part drawings are accurately interpreted and inspected.
• Establish critical-to-quality (CTQ) dimensions and tolerance stacks, ensure process variations are accounted for in the programming phase.
• Partner with the Quality department to conduct root-cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) on production defects, implementing robust corrective actions.
• Assist in the validation of new parts via First Article Inspection (FAI) reports and continuous in-process quality audits.
Required Skills:
• Deep understanding of sheet metal behaviors, including material grain direction, bend allowances, K-factors, and spring-back characteristics.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proactive, hands-on problem solver
Qualifications:
• B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, OR equivalent technical degree/advanced trade certification with extensive on-the-job programming experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience in metal fabrication, machining and welding (MIG, TIG, laser) desired.
• Strong expertise in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion)
What We Offer:
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience
• Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance
• Retirement plan with company matching
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Opportunity to work with cutting-edge manufacturing technology
• Collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
