Monday - Friday 9:00am-3:00pm - 30 hours

Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a non-profit organization supporting adult individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities by providing them with Residential, Vocational, Recreation and Day Support Services.

BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) assisting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Yard Service Program. If you love to work outdoors for extended periods of time and have a desire to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else's life this is the position for you. Applicants with no experience or a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least age 18.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record back 3 years, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Ability to use lawn maintenance machinery, work outdoors for extended periods of time and move supplies/equipment.
• Ability to drive with and back up a medium sized trailer.
• Provide professional customer support for our yard service clients.
• Provide opportunities for learning new skills and experiences by working on their individual goals and plans.
• Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
• Assist management team in identifying and providing opportunities for learning new skills and independence working with each individuals’ goals and plans.
• Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Efforts:

• Candidates should be prepared to work in various weather conditions.
• Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 50 pounds.
