Job Description

AI Learning Experience Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AI Learning Experience Designer based in United States.

This senior role blends learning strategy, instructional design, UX/UI expertise, and hands-on AI prototyping to create modern learning experiences for enterprise audiences.
You will partner directly with clients and stakeholders to translate complex business challenges into engaging, measurable learning solutions.
The position combines consulting and creative execution, with an emphasis on building wireframes and functional prototypes in real time.
You will design experiences across digital, virtual, live, and blended modalities, including AI-enabled and immersive learning environments.
The role also requires thoughtful management of AI-related risks, including privacy, bias, accessibility, reliability, and compliance.
You will contribute to strategic pitches, design sprints, executive presentations, and iterative solution development throughout the client lifecycle.
This opportunity is well suited to a hands-on learning innovator who enjoys combining human-centered design, learning science, technology, and AI to solve complex problems.

Accountabilities
  • Partner with enterprise clients and internal stakeholders from discovery through delivery, serving as a trusted learning consultant grounded in adult learning principles and learning science.
  • Develop high-level learning strategies, conduct needs analysis, and translate complex business challenges into effective learning frameworks and experiences.
  • Build working wireframes and functional prototypes during live client sessions, rapidly testing ideas, gathering feedback, and iterating solutions.
  • Design end-to-end learning journeys and user interfaces across live, virtual, digital, and blended learning environments.
  • Create experience-led solutions for enterprise applications, AI-enabled learning environments, and immersive digital experiences.
  • Apply hands-on AI prototyping, coding, and generative AI tools throughout the design workflow while maintaining human oversight of learning quality, usability, and outcomes.
  • Identify and manage AI-related risks, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, reliability, accessibility, and compliance considerations.
  • Define, analyze, and apply learning data and success metrics that provide meaningful insight beyond basic completion rates.
  • Apply design thinking methodologies, facilitate design sprints, and lead review and revision cycles with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Plan and support live, virtual, and blended learning events, including show flows, facilitation resources, and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with creative, learning, technology, and client teams to ensure solutions are strategically aligned and effectively executed.
  • Contribute to client pitches, proposals, strategy presentations, and executive-level discussions.
  • Continuously explore emerging AI, learning technology, UX, and instructional design practices to improve the quality and impact of learning solutions.
Requirements
  • 7–10 years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years focused on training and development, learning experience design, instructional design, or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in learning science, learning strategy, needs analysis, instructional frameworks, and adult learning principles.
  • Hands-on UX/UI expertise, including UI building, user research, wireframing, usability testing, and experience design; this role requires an active builder rather than a purely managerial profile.
  • Current, practical experience with AI prototyping and generative AI, including building functional prototypes with AI coding, prototyping, or workflow tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate client conversations in real time, collaborate with senior stakeholders, ideate interactively, and prototype concepts during meetings.
  • Strong bias toward hands-on building and experimentation rather than focusing solely on specifications, documentation, or delivery management.
  • Excellent analytical, data literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong presentation, pitching, written, and verbal communication skills, with the presence and confidence to work with enterprise stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, cloud collaboration platforms, LMS/LXP technologies, and standard learning authoring tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully distributed environment using virtual communication and collaboration technologies.
  • Experience working with enterprise clients and managing complex stakeholder relationships is highly valuable.
  • Experience in a management consulting or professional services environment is preferred.
  • Agency experience supporting global enterprise clients is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern LXP platforms, custom enterprise learning technology stacks, and advanced LMS integrations is a plus.
  • A collaborative, empathetic, curious, and innovative mindset with a strong commitment to high-quality learning experiences.
Benefits
  • $55 per hour on a W2 contract basis.
  • Full-time contract engagement with a project duration of up to 2 years.
  • 40 hours per week of project capacity.
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative learning initiatives incorporating AI, UX/UI, emerging technology, and immersive experiences.
  • Exposure to enterprise-level clients and complex business challenges across multiple industries.
  • Collaborative environment focused on empathy, creativity, innovation, and meaningful impact.
  • Opportunity to contribute to forward-looking AI-enabled learning solutions and emerging learning technologies.
  • Professional growth through hands-on work across learning strategy, design, technology, prototyping, and client consulting.
