This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, SAP Data Lead based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity overseeing the data strategy and migration workstream for a major SAP S/4HANA transformation.
You will own the end-to-end data lifecycle, from assessment and cleansing through migration, validation, reconciliation, and post-go-live governance.
The role is central to ensuring enterprise data is accurate, secure, consistent, and fit for business use throughout the transformation.
You will partner closely with business process owners, functional SAP teams, technology leaders, and program stakeholders to establish effective data standards and controls.
As the leader of the SAP S/4 data migration team, you will guide data analysts, migration specialists, and offshore resources toward key program milestones.
The position combines strategic ownership, hands-on data expertise, people leadership, and executive-level stakeholder management in a complex enterprise environment.
Travel of up to 25% may be required to support program collaboration and implementation activities.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA data workstream, covering data assessment, cleansing, mapping, migration, validation, reconciliation, and post-go-live governance.
  • Define and own the overall data migration strategy, methodology, approach, processes, and supporting tools.
  • Establish and enforce master data governance standards across critical domains, including Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance, Chart of Accounts, and Cost Center.
  • Partner with business process owners to establish data quality rules, cleansing requirements, validation criteria, and acceptance thresholds before migration.
  • Oversee extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities from legacy environments into SAP S/4HANA.
  • Lead mock and final data migration cycles, coordinating with SAP functional teams across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, and related areas to confirm data readiness.
  • Establish robust reconciliation processes to verify completeness, accuracy, and consistency between legacy and target systems.
  • Directly manage data analysts, data migration specialists, and offshore resources supporting the data workstream, providing clear priorities, coaching, and performance direction.
  • Identify data-related risks, dependencies, issues, and quality gaps, and develop mitigation and remediation plans with program leadership.
  • Define and monitor KPIs covering data quality, migration progress, defect resolution, readiness, and overall workstream performance.
  • Ensure data migration and governance activities comply with applicable security, regulatory, and data protection requirements, including GDPR and SOX.
  • Support post-go-live data governance by establishing sustainable master data maintenance processes, controls, and ownership models.
  • Maintain comprehensive data standards, migration runbooks, process documentation, and lessons learned to support future implementation phases and rollouts.
  • Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and key data considerations effectively to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in SAP data management, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Extensive experience leading data strategy, governance, migration, and quality activities within SAP transformation programs, particularly SAP S/4HANA implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
  • Experience working with the Syniti data management and migration platform.
  • Proven experience managing data teams, including data analysts, migration specialists, and distributed or offshore resources.
  • Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, ETL processes, data cleansing, mapping, validation, reconciliation, and master data governance.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to adapt leadership style to different individuals, teams, business functions, and complex organizational environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data topics into clear business priorities and decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks, manage competing priorities, drive accountability, and deliver against transformation milestones.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on data quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.
Benefits:
  • Senior leadership opportunity within a large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation.
  • Direct leadership responsibility for the SAP S/4 data migration team.
  • Opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data governance, quality, and migration standards.
  • High-visibility role working across business, technology, and SAP functional teams.
  • Exposure to complex enterprise data transformation and future implementation rollouts.
  • Travel opportunities of up to 25% in support of program activities.
