Director of Production

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Production based in the United States.

As Director of Production, you will lead and scale a high-performing transcript production organization within the court reporting industry.
You will shape the strategy, standards, workflows, and operating model that ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality transcript delivery.
The role combines people leadership, operational excellence, analytics, technology, and deep industry expertise.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to introduce automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.
You will oversee managers and production teams while building a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
Your insights will directly influence operational performance, client experience, and the organization’s ability to scale cost-effectively.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive production strategy focused on improving transcript review, production quality, efficiency, scalability, and client service.
  • Identify data-driven opportunities to improve production workflows, quality standards, turnaround times, and operational performance.
  • Establish, communicate, and maintain policies, procedures, and operational standards related to transcript production and review.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to implement automation, AI integrations, and technology-enabled workflows that increase production capacity and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement scalable labor and outsourcing models that support sustainable, cost-effective growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Production Managers and support them in developing production assistants, associates, and team leads.
  • Manage managers effectively, providing strategic direction, performance guidance, and development opportunities across the organization.
  • Own production analytics and KPIs, using insights to identify performance gaps and drive progress against company objectives and key results.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the production organization.
  • Ensure production practices consistently meet quality, confidentiality, compliance, and industry standards.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop scalable internal and client-facing products, processes, and workflows.
  • Stay informed about legal codes, regulations, and compliance requirements affecting deposition transcripts across different jurisdictions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of production leadership experience within the court reporting industry, including demonstrated experience building and scaling transcript production teams.
  • Deep understanding of transcript production workflows, quality assurance processes, operational standards, and industry best practices.
  • Previous experience managing managers and successfully developing leaders who can build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling teams and operational models through different stages of organizational growth.
  • Experience implementing workflow automation, AI-enabled solutions, technology integrations, or other approaches designed to improve operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with outsourced labor or scaled workforce models and their application to production operations.
  • Strong understanding of legal codes, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to deposition transcripts across the United States.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience using production data and KPIs to identify opportunities and drive measurable improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • High ethical standards and demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A technology-oriented, continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to translate operational challenges into scalable solutions.
